Rainer Hensel has composed, arranged, and produced music for a wide variety of feature films, TV series, theatre plays and modern dance, applying a rich diversity of musical styles. These styles vary from orchestral works, music for classical instruments like violin, cello, bassoon and even bandoneon, or even classical voices, sometimes integrating these instruments into weird soundscapes.
Rainer recently published music albums with musical interpretations of surrealistic poetry, like poems from the Dutch poet Jules Deelder or the legendary Belgium poet Jotie T’Hooft. The last years Rainer has produced quite some video-clips based on music for such 'weird poetry' and moreover modern dance-music videos.
Rainer is specialized in creating a unique orchestral sound without the use of a real orchestra and moreover writing for acoustic instruments and integrating these instruments into cinematographic soundscapes. Key in Rainer's work is the ultimate search for the right synergy between the music and what is going on in the movie or on stage.
